A couple weeks ago Geoff and I decided to go ahead an book the hotel for our first anniversary trip! I won't post the exact dates here as it's a public blog, but we'll be celebrating in the fall.
We love Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. So when we were discussing what we wanted to do for our anniversary, heading up to Food and Wine Festival came up as the perfect choice. Yes, we're only an hour away from Disney World, but driving an hour after imbibing at the Festival is kind of frowned upon (and unsafe.) So in order to fully enjoy it, we're staying on-site. And yes, for anyone who is wondering, it totally makes me geek out that WDW is a "Staycation" for us...
We're staying for 3 nights, 4 days. Plenty of time to avoid the crazy crowds at Epcot on the weekend. We're really anxious for the Food and Wine schedule to come out so we can see what Signature Dinners are happening. I mean, we *can* change our dates, it's not like we have to adjust flights too!
So where are we staying? I'm glad you asked. We (okay I) really wanted to stay within walking distance of Epcot. But as any Disney-nut knows, the Epcot resorts are expensive! That's when I started thinking more about the Swan and Dolphin. Of course, there's a resort fee and parking fee if you stay there, so you need to take it into account when you're crunching numbers. Even with the parking and resort fees, for our 3 nights, we'd save $500 by staying at the Swan or Dolphin! Sold! So we booked the Swan!

We're under 180 days, so we could make our reservations now, but we won't until the schedule for the Festival comes out...should be around July. So stay tuned for updates as we plan our trip!
Oh, and little Bandit is getting his own vacation. He'll be staying with my parents. He likes them as they let him get away with everything. And they have the big giant water bowl (a pool.) And he can chase lizards on their lanai.
